Book 28 Page 22

An almighty cry for help

And the cry went out.

“Lord! lord! I could do with a little help.”

And the Christian god replied.

“I’ve sent you my only son, what more do you want!?”

And the cry went out.

“Lord! lord! I could do with a little help.”

And the Buddha replied.

“You’ve got to make your own way; you’ve got to help yourself.”

And the cry went out.

“Lord! lord! I could do with a little help.”

And the Jewish god replied

in millions and billions of words which basically said,

“The promised land is coming.”

And the cry went out.

“Lord! lord! I could do with a little help,”

said the atheist in a moment of utter despair.

And there was no reply for a while, but then the words came;

“Yes how would you like me to help?”
