I don’t love a sunburnt country

Parody of a famous poem by Dorothea Mackeller

 Called; “ My Country “

I don’t love a sunburnt country,

indoor’s -in front of the TV. - is where I’d rather remain,

Not out in the scorching sun

walking the rugged sweeping plains.

And I don’t like milk and honey,

it brings me out in hives.

Nor do I like going down to the coastal sea side,

when the temperatures over thirty five.

I prefer to stay at home with the air conditioner on

than to be a 'rugged bush pioneer.

You can venture out into this dark brown land if you like,

but I’d rather sit home with me nice cold can of beer.
