Longing
The loin longs
to kill the deer.
but the deer desires
to live.
The human longs
to stay awake,
but the sleeping one desires
to dream.
The sails long
to capture the wind,
but the wind desires
to be free.
All desire
reacting in ‘a balance,’
like some secret ballast,
that hold life steady.
