My dog and me

My dog and me

we’ve got a good thing going.

I pay the food bills

and he does the growing.

And when I’m out there working ,

he sleeps the whole day round.

Yet when I go to call him,

he’s nowhere to be found!

He’s suppose to be a guard dog,

but he’s the biggest wimp I’ve met.

When strangers come a-calling

he licks them half to death.

But I love him just the same,

in sleek and rain and hail,

Cause he makes me coo with affection

when he wags his little tail.

My dog and me,

yep, we got a good thing going.

Ah! It’s a dog’s life all right.
