The Joker

The Joker came up in the tarot cards,

He seemed to dance all over the table.

The Joker came up laughing and smiling,

As only he is able.

The Joker was making nonsense,

of the future and the pass.

The Joker was exposing everything,

like looking into glass.

His message was of transcendence,

of fun and light heartiness.

Even while the other cards were expressing

life’s morbid seriousness.

The Joker made light of everything,

Like a man possessed with joy.

The Joker used the other cards meanings,

As if they were a toy.

And all the other cards paled in significance,

as the Joker ruled the day.

The Joker came up trumps,

As he had the final say.

The Joker came up in the tarot cards,

bringing simplicity, beyond normal understanding.

The Joker came up in the tarot cards,

Bringing its own kind of love and understanding.
