The progress of opulence
The progress of opulence
that race to be better,
as within the framework of capitalism,
we climb the capitalist ladder.
And in climbing that ladder of success
some fall and find themselves in the gutter,
for some make it to the top only by
stopping others from climbing.
For the progress of opulence is a fickle game,
in comparing who’s got the most money,
And how much status is in ‘a name.’
But this is how the game of opulence is played.
And I see you climbing higher and higher,
and I see your emotions ‘of wanting’ on fire.
And I can see that nothings gonna stop you,
that’s until, you fall.
